protein energy balls || recipe

I've never done a recipe post before, but this one os super easy and delish, so now it's now one of my go-to's.  These protein energy balls are so quick and easy to make...no baking required, which is totally my thing.

Here's what you'll need:
1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup or so chocolate chips
2 tbs chia seeds
1 cup natural almond butter**

**you can also use peanut butter, I just prefer almond.
Sometimes I add some coconut.  It really can be whatever you want, just keep the base the same.

Mix all the ingredients together.

This is the messy...but fun...part.  Roll small hand-fulls into balls and place them on a cookie sheet.  You can eat them right away, but I prefer to put the in the refrigerator for about an hour.  They're better cold in my opinion.

I also almost always double this recipe.  This is a perfect grab and go snack, take them to the beach, eat one for breakfast or as an afternoon snack, when the neighbor kids come over to play.  It's a quick and easy treat that everyone loves.

Well how appropriate that I post a "bad food" post today and you post a healthy food post!!!! This looks like something I need to try soon. Thank you!
