august goals

I can't believe we're already 5 days in to August!  Summer is flying by {insert sad face} and school starts in just a few short weeks.  As for my August goals...I'm keeping them simple since we're leaving for NYC tomorrow (CAN'T WAIT!!), and I go back to school for teacher training 4 days after we get back!  And then...the students come!  So, I'm very thankful for goals with grace.

July goals:
*Read at least 4 books: Rush Revere & The Brave PilgrimsFreefall to FlyThe Nesting Place, and Delancey.  I also read Lone Survivor by Macus Luttrell, which I highly recoomend.  I'll be honest, it was tough to read and I cried several times while reading, but it's one of those books that I think every American should read.  Rush Revere is actually a kids book, but it was a quick, fun, historical read.  I absolutely LOVED Freefall to Fly and it's on my list to read again someday.  The Nesting Place was super encouraging, all about making a house a home, but not a perfect home.  There were some great tips and ideas in there for decorating on a budget!  Delancey was a fun read.  It's the story of how the author, Molly Wizenburg, and her husband opened a pizza shop in Seattle.  Each chapter ended with a recipe!
*Do Pilates at least 2 times a week.  Miserable fail.  I didn't go once! Ugh!!
*Clean & organize my office.  Cleaned and organized!  Finally!  Eventually I'd love to decorate it, but I've been a little focused on the baby's room for now.
*BEGIN to clean and organize the garage.  We didn't do as much as I would like, but we made a start.
*Beach Mondays.  We far surpassed this goal of Beach Mondays and had more like Beach Weekdays.  It was awesome.

August Goals:
*Read Daring Greatly  by Brene Brown, Carry On Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton, and A Million Little Ways by Emily P. Freeman.  This month I'm really going to have to be intentional about my reading time!
*Clean out closet in spare room to prepare for the BABE!!
*Clean Claire's fort.
*Do Pilates.  I'm not even going to put any certain number of times each week or in a month, I just need to do it!!
*I want to keep doing Beach Mondays since it stays hot through October in San Diego, but since I'll be going back to school in a few weeks, we'll have to change it to Beach Sundays.  So starting August 17: BEACH SUNDAYS.

"Clean Claire's fort." = AWESOME. haha. I say this every month I know, but I really need to dedicate more time to reading. Sometimes I just feel like there is not enough time in the day! Have so much fun in NYC!!!!!!
