essential oils || day 4

Today is the last day for Back to School with Essential Oils.  But next week check out my Instagram for a chance to win some oily products!!

Oregano oil is definitely one we've used in our family to help fight colds.  No matter what we do to prevent sickness (which oils work great for), we still sometimes get sick.  When we do, oregano oil is a definite go-to that helps fight off a cold. It's a must for your medicine cabinet.  It's nature's most potent antibiotics, as it is both an antibacterial as well as an antiviral.  From colds, to sinus infections, viruses to the flu, oregano is a fighter.  It has even proven to kill the MRSA virus, strep, and ecoli in clinical studies.  Oregano can be used diluted (it's hot, so please dilute!!), on the bottoms of feet, and diffused.  It's a must have to fight sickness at the first sight of infection.

Oregano (Origanum vulgareOriganum onitesOriganum minutiflorumOriganum Vulgare) is one of the most powerful and versatile essential oils. It contains strong immune-enhancing and antioxidant properties and supports the respiratory system.

These 3 oils are also great to have in your medicine cabinet, so you can be prepared when someone gets sick.  Perfect for the winter months, these oils will help fight the sniffles, to chest colds, to the flu.  Raven is good for older school aged children, as RC and Breathe Again can be used on all school aged children.  Simply dilute and add 1 drop to the chest, spine, and feet, or diffuse nightly.  Breathe Again in a roll-on and comes already diluted and ready to use.

Raven™ is a combination of deeply soothing therapeuticgrade essential oils that will provide comfort when applied topically to the chest and throat or diffused.

R.C.™ contains powerful therapeutic-grade essential oils that are invigorating when applied, especially to the chest and throat area. R.C. is a wonderful blend to diffuse during winter.

Breathe Again™ Essential Oil Roll-On is a proprietary blend of oils specially formulated to support respiratory health. Breathe Again contains four powerful eucalyptus oils: Eucalyptus staigeriana, Eucalyptus globulus, Eucalyptus radiata, and Young Living's original Ecuador single, Eucalyptus blue. Eucalyptus oils contain high amounts of cineole, which has been studied for its potential to support healthy lung function. The essential oils peppermint, myrtle, and copaiba also play an integral part in this blend. Breathe Again is available in a portable roll-on applicator, making natural relief available anywhere.

Di-Gize is great to use for tummy troubles from motion sickness to full-on food poisoning.  Simply rub 1 drop, diluted, on the stomach area for quick relief.  This is great to have around when your family gets hit with the stomach flu.

Di-Gize™ is a dietary supplement that provides valuable aid for digestive concerns and helps support a healthy digestive system.

As a teacher, I'm always trying to keep a clean and germ-free classroom.  Oils are a great way to do that!  I wish I could diffuse thieves in my classroom every day, but that's just not going to happen!  So I definitely use other oils during my day to help with germs and stress!

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) has a fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous aroma that is soothing and refreshing. Because it is the most versatile of all essential oils, no home should be without it. Lavender is an adaptogen, and therefore can assist the body when adapting to stress or imbalances. It is a great aid for relaxing and winding down before bedtime, yet has balancing properties that can also boost stamina and energy. Therapeutic-grade lavender is highly regarded for skin and beauty. It may be used to soothe and cleanse common cuts, bruises, and skin irritations.

Peace & Calming® is a gentle, fragrant blend. When diffused, it helps calm tensions and uplift the spirit, promoting relaxation and a deep sense of peace. When massaged on the bottoms of the feet, it can be a wonderful prelude to a peaceful night's rest. Peace & Calming may be especially calming and comforting to young children after an overactive and stressful day.

Young Living’s Stress Away™ essential oil blend is a natural solution created to combat normal stresses that creep into everyday life. Stress Away is the first product to contain the unique stress-relieving combination of lime and vanilla pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils. Stress Away also includes copaiba and lavender to reduce mental rigidity and restore equilibrium. Featuring powerful plant constituents, such as the cedrol found in cedarwood and the eugenol that occurs naturally in vanilla, Stress Away can help induce relaxation and reduce occasional nervous tension.

I've talked about so many great oils in the last 4 posts.  If you're not a Young Living member yet, but would like to become one, the Premium Started Kit is the way to go.  So many of the oils I've talked about come in this kit.  For $150 you get 10 oils, a home diffuser, a bottle of Stress Away, an aroma glide roll on attachment, and a lot of samples.

Oh I'm so glad. I've had such a great response, I'm thinking of continuing it once or twice a month. Yes...they are amazing, but I know what you mean about not wanting to pack another dang thing! :) When and where are you moving to?

Yes!! They are wonderful! Our family has found them to be so beneficial to our health. They're also great at preventing sickness, which is awesome since I'm a teacher and my daughter is in school full time. Let me know if you have any questions. :)

I have heard so many things about essential oils and while I am the "pop an advil for a headache" type, I have been looking into using them during childbirth! I have read that diffusing certain oils really helps relax women and that putting lavender in waters used for cleaning and things like that will really speed up the healing process! I might have to invest in one of those starter kits!!

I used to pop advil for headaches, until I discovered peppermint oil! Works great for headaches and smells good too! Lavender oil and a diffuser come in the starter kit. And I've heard great things about using oils for natural births (for the birth as well as the recovery. Also oils to use on newborns!). I believe in them 100%. Let me know if you have any questions.
