friday favorites

So Steve and I leave for NYC in 4 days and I'm so not ready!  Yes, I have some lists of things to see, places to go, but I'm feeling super underprepared.  I absolutely can't wait to go...this is something we've been looking forward to for several months now.  I've been pinning things on Pinterest, asking others who've been there more recently for tips and advice, following blogs of New Yorkers.  So my heart is ready, just gotta get my act together!  Eeep!  Please share any and all thoughts or ideas you have of what we should do while we're there.  And thanks to those who already have!!

And...just a side note.  I think we've decided on names for the baby.  I mean, I've decided and Steve is finally agreeing to them.  I'll blog about them another time. :)

Ok, now for some of my favorite blog posts from this week:

My girl Alicia at Investing Love is on my list for the 2nd week in a row.  This week she wrote a summer reading list post which is always a sure way to my heart.

I loved reading so many of the #donttrysohard posts.  This on by Sage was one of my faves.  Check it out here: Don't try so hard.

Jordyn at She Who Fears weekly writes out a prayer and this weeks was so beautiful!  Grace Upon Grace

Natalie is someone I've known since our teenage years.  She has such a beautiful heart.  She blogs about her family in the most perfect way.  I loved this post called Beach Belly Flop about her son Elias.

Ann Voskamp gets me every time.  This is a post every woman should read...so take a few minutes and do it!  How Women Can Stop Judging Each Other

And...my fave post from this week is from the darling Emily who blogs at Ember Grey.  Her Doppelganger post cracked me up...I may have read it more than twice.  And it kinda left me speechless.

I'm so excited for you guys! My suggestion would be to have a picnic in one of the parks (Central maybe?) Bring a blanket and grab some food to go with a bottle of wine... so much fun :) Can't wait to read your Fri Faves!
