10 random things

A couple weeks ago I was tagged by Ashley to share 10 random things about me.  Ok...so....this is hard for me because I don't love to talk about myself and its hard to come up with random facts.  Probably because I feel like I'm so normal! ;)  Alright...here they are...

my sister's wedding in Maui '06
+ I was homeschooled through 8th grade.  Go ahead with all the jokes...my sisters and I say them to each other all the time.  We actually loved being homeschooled and missed it when we went to Christian school (my mom always hated it when people would say, "Why don't you go to REAL school?!?"  I guess homeschooling in the 80's was different from today).

+ I love all things chocolate and peanut butter.  Oh yum.  Like the best combination ever!

+ I've traveled to 12 countries around the world on mission's trips.  My Dad works with an organization called e3 Partners and it's always been a huge priority for our family to serve in missions in other countries where the Gospel is not available to people.  I haven't been on a trip in 7 years (since becoming a mom), but I can't wait to go again and hopefully take Claire & "Judy" next time I go.

+ I have naturally curly hair, but if we've meet in the last 10 years, you probably wouldn't know that about me because I started straightening it after I got married.  Thank the Lord for great straightening product!

+ I don't love to work out.  I wish that I did.  But I have found that Pilates is something that I LOVE doing.  I've been out of the habit since summer started and now I'm waiting for "Judy" to get out of me so I can consistently go again!

family photos on the family farm.  we grow citrus...clearly!
+ I could eat ice cream at any time of any day.  It's my favorite, like it's my love language.  Mint chip has always been my favorite, but I don't really turn any flavor down.  Especially if it's homemade.

+ I hate cooking.  I wish I loved it because I love to eat and really want to love it, but I just don't.

+ I'm always reading 2-3 books at a time.  All kinds of books...fantasy, romance, historical, parenting, etc.  I love them all! During summer and school breaks, it's fantastic, I get to read all.the.time.  But during the school year it's hard to actually finish a book!  So I'm joining this linkup with the hopes of actually getting some reading done.

+ I grew up in a ministry home.  My Dad was a full-time pastor until I was about 14, then he and my mom went into missions full-time.  People tell my sister's and me that we're not normal pastor's kids...we didn't have a super rebellious stage and we weren't the holier than thou types.  I guess that's a compliment!

+ I'm a huge Gavin DeGraw fan.  Like I've seen him at least 5 times in concert.  He's amazing.

omg Amy! I was homeschooled too! 1-12th...and so was my husband. We met in homeschool land and I'd say we turned out alright. :-)

I had no idea! You guys are so normal! :) Don't you love it when people say that?!? My hubs was not HS, he likes to tease me about it.

How cool that you grew up going on so many missions! I'd really like to go on one!

I love your hair curly! Super cute!
Peanut Butter and Chocolate is the best combination....EVER.
Mission trips are life changing. I can't wait to take the little guy one day!
Loved reading the randomness about you - maybe that is because I love random. HA!

This was a great way to get to know you better, thanks for sharing! I'm always reading a couple books all at once and I LOVE curly hair, yours is so pretty!! You are pretty either way though, totally gorgeous!

YES on chocolate & peanut butter!! Always!! And you are gorgeous with curly hair, how funny that I never would have guessed haha. I'm loving Claire's Minnie Mouse handbag tucked over her arm in that photo of the orange grove!!! :)

Haha...thank you! It seems like a simple task but coming up with 10 random things was really hard for me...thanks for stopping by, now you do a post like this! :)

Ah, thanks girl. You're so sweet!

Oh thank you. I know, sometimes I miss it. I did grow it out a little after Claire was born, but pregnancy made my curls kinda weird, so I still keep it short and straight! So much easier! :) And of course Claire woke up sick the day we took those pics, so we didn't have a choice but to have the bright minnie purse and a green hello kitty toy! Haha...kids!

AMY!!!!!! I LOVE that first picture of you guys!!! Okay - I didn't start straightening my hair until college and I just remember thinking "how did I ever live without a straightener?!" It's like I don't remember what life was like before it. (Wait. I do. It wasn't pretty.) Ice cream = your love language. hahaha! I'm nodding in agreement to SO much of this. Hating working out but loving Pilates. I don't enjoy cooking either but love when people cook for me ;) (And clearly ALWAYS YES to Gavin DeGraw.) #longestcommentever

Oh thank you...back in the good ole days, you know, before kids! :) I didn't know you had curly hair! I love pics of you wearing it wavy, is that natural or do you curl it? Curly hair...in high school...surprised I even had friends. Ugh, I was a mess! YES always, always, always to Gavin. That's the other boy name I love, because, well...clearly! He's my fave. and I love your #longestcommentever

Not only do I have curly hair (not super curly but just enough, you know?) but it only holds the curl on ONE side... so that always makes for a great look when I air-dry! ;) I use an iron to make it wavy... you know... on both sides.

Oh I totally get it...after having Claire, I had gorgeous curls on the right side and these weird kinky, yet straight, "waves" on the left. So bizarre. I was so over that, so straight it is!!

It takes awhile to think of 10 random things! HA. My post will go live tomorrow because I finally thought of 10. :)
