fall bucket list

This morning it's finally starting to look and feel like fall, well, for San Diego anyway!  We still wear shorts and t-shirts, but might need a light sweater in the evening, depending on how close you are to the coast.  Seriously, I don't understand seasons because I've never lived in them.  But it's still fun to celebrate the entrance of fall and do fall-ish things.  Especially now as a mom, I love doing all the things with Claire.  These are just a few of the things we're hoping to do this fall:

+ go to the pumpkin patch

+ beach camping over fall break...Claire and I get a week off school in a few weeks!!  It's my favorite break of the year.

+ Christmas shopping done by October 31

+ read 2 books

+ make this recipe again this year.  I made it for Thanksgiving dinner last year and it was a hit!

+ try this recipe this year.  looks delish!

+ drink lots of chai lattes with pumpkin spice.  I used to be a lover of PSL's, until I discovered this combo.  Try it...life changing...you won't regret it (my fave is 2 pumps of chai & 2 pumps of pumpkin).

What's on your bucket list this fall?  Link up with these ladies and share all your fun ideas, tips, DIY's, recipes, and activities you're hoping to do this fall!

I would love to go apple picking this year! We don't have apple orchards in Florida, but I'm planning to go to NC later this year, so I'll have to find one.

omg are you super mom or what? I'm lucky if Christmas shopping is done by Dec 1. HAHA. Everything on your list sounds great, and that recipe? Yes please, I'll be right over! :)

Pumpkin chai is a common barista drink. I generally love all things pumpkin, but the PSL is just not my thing. I went to a work even several years ago in Vegas and I met this girl from Hawaii who casually mentioned they don't really have weather reports on TV...because it's all the same. That was the day when I realized some people in this country don't talk about the weather everyday! Growing up in the midwest that is all we talk about!

I haven't gone since college maybe...10+ years...it's about time I take Claire!

Amy @ Set Free said...

We don;t have many in San Diego...need to drive to the mountains for it, but it would be such a fun day trip! And yes, you'll need to find one...and then do a post on a delicious apple recipe!! ;)

With babe #2 coming anytime between the middle of November-mid December, I need to feel organized! I've got high hopes...but we'll see!!

Amy @ Set Free said...

Two of my favorite things!! :)

Amy @ Set Free said...

I know...I think the last time I went apple picking was 10+ years ago in college...I'm getting old! And it's about time I take Claire! :)

Amy @ Set Free said...

Well, we'll see if I can actually pull it off. Trying to get organized since babe #2 will be here sometime in late November/early December.

Normally I'm lucky if I can get my shopping done by Dec 23! Haha...gotta get ready for Judy! Lord knows I won;t be fighting the crowds with a newborn...however, my Amazon prime is my back up plan!

Amy @ Set Free said...

Those baristas...that's how I found out about my life changing drink! I love all pumpkin, too, but the PSL just isn't good enough anymore. Haha...we talk about how hot it is, how cold it is when it gets to be under 60, and how much we need rain. Other than that, it's beach weather. :)

oh pumpkin chai sounds awesome! I will definitely try that. And I can't believe you can finish your shopping by Halloween, holy cow!! You are inspiring!!

Amy @ Set Free said...

Well, that's the goal...we'll see if I can really make it happen! Planning on using a lot of Amazon Prime! :)

I love a good bucket list/to do list! You have some wonderful things ahead of you this fall! I'm realizing because they weather won't cool down until oct/nov that I've forgotten that fall is here! I need to start thinking about creating some fall traditions :)

This is a GREAT bucket list! I especially love the pumpkin patch and apple picking ideas!! I can't wait to do all of those things when my baby gets here and we can start making lots of memories as a family!!!

Christmas shopping before the end of October!! Wow-- that's ambitious, and probably a good idea:)

Amy @ Set Free said...

Yes! Fall traditions are right up there with Christmas traditions. This is the season to begin all those things. :) It doesn't cool down here really until after Thanksgiving, but it's nice to still enjoy all things fall, even while wearing flip flops and shorts!!

Amy @ Set Free said...

Yes!! Doing these things as a mom is so much fun! Start planning now all the traditions and memories you want to make! It really is one of the greatest gifts ever.

Amy @ Set Free said...

Well, I'm due to have baby #2 at the beginning of December, so I need to plan ahead and be organized! Trust me, I'm not normally that ambitious! ;)

Lots to get done this season! Wish I could get my Christmas shopping done that early! Probably won't happen though... ^_^

I always love getting my Christmas shopping done early as well. I buy things that are on sale through out the year and store them until Christmas...it saves a TON of money! And I'll have to try your coffee suggestion..I love the PSL!

savannah patrone said...

I think that is a fantastic idea!! I'm going to start planning now!! Fun!!!!

Heather K said...

I couldn't agree more!

I definitely need to try a soy chai latte with pumpkin spice! I hate coffee, so I've never gotten on board with the PSL, but a chai one sounds perfect.

I so want to go to a pumpkin patch & apple picking. & a hay ride!

Amy @ Set Free said...

I'm due to have baby #2 early December, so that's why my goal is to get it done so early. Probably won;t happen though...a girl can dream! :)

Amy @ Set Free said...

I try to buy things throughout the year, but I usually end up using them for birthday gifts. Since baby #2 is coming early December, I feel like I need to be as prepared as possible!

Amy @ Set Free said...

I've never tried it with soy...I'm sure it would be delicious! But I'm usually too cheap to splurge! :) Chai is my all time favorite so it's nice to change it up in the fall with some fall-ish flavors!

Amy @ Set Free said...

Ohhhh....a hay ride...sounds horrible, but I'm sure Claire would love it. Makes my allergies hurt just thinking about it! :)

ashley said...

Ha, yeah.. But it would be so nice. I really want to walk a corn maze too. But I am pretty sure it would not be a good idea all the walking and needing to pee 500 times! :P

Amy @ Set Free said...

Haha...just find a little corner when no ones around!.....;)

That's a great bucket list! I wish I was as motivated as you when it came to Christmas shopping!! You are on your game, mama! Everything else also sounds great :) We just went apple picking and took our lil girl for the first time. SO much fun. Have a great week!!

ashley said...

Haha, I could! But I fear I may lose balance & pee on myself or someone will be hiding a see EVERYTHING! Hahah.

Amy @ Set Free said...

I can't wait to take my girl apple picking! And then maybe bake a pie! And I feel like I need to be motivated now for Christmas or it won't happen! Whoever decided having a baby at Christmas is a crazy person!! :)

Kaeleen said...

That recipe looks DELISH. Might have to make it :)

Amy @ Set Free said...

There's just something about fall recipes...I hate cooking, but the fall, it just brings something out in me that's not there the rest of the year!
