fall favorites

I have to admit, I'm never big on summer ending and the entrance of fall...whatever that really means here in San Diego.  I love everything about summer and I never want it to end, but once I'm faced with fall...decor, colors, boots and scarves...I LOVE it!  I especially love fall scents.  I love the warmness of them.  How comforting they are.  The feeling of needing to bundle and be cozy.  That's what those smells do to me.  So since falling in love with all things essential oils, I've started mixing fall-ish scents in my diffuser.  And let me tell you...it's better than any candle out there!  Plus, it has health benefits.  Fall just became that much more appealing!

So if you're into EO's, here's the 4 I'm loving in my diffuser right now:

+ 2 drops of lemon
+ 4 drops of orange
+ 3 drops of cinnamon
+ 3 drops of clove

Lemon (Citrus limon) has a strong, purifying, citrus scent that is revitalizing and uplifting. Lemon consists of 68 percent dlimonene, a powerful antioxidant. It is delightfully refreshing in water and may be beneficial for the skin. Lemon may also be used to enhance the flavor of foods. Lemon essential oil is cold-pressed from the rinds of lemons.

Orange (Citrus sinensis) essential oil has a rich, fruity scent that lifts the spirit while providing a calming influence on the body. Orange brings peace and happiness to the mind. It is rich in the powerful antioxidant d-limonene and aids in maintaining normal cellular regeneration. Orange may also be used to enhance the flavor of food and water.

The warm, spicy aroma of cinnamon has been sought throughout the ages both as a valuable commodity and for its ability to improve wellness. Young Living Therapeutic Grade™ cinnamon bark is meticulously tested to ensure that no dilution from similar-smelling oils has occurred. Cinnamon is thought to promote healthy cardiovascular and immune function, and acts as an antiseptic.

Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) has a sweet, spicy fragrance that is stimulating and revitalizing. An important ingredient in our Thieves blend due to its wonderful immune-enhancing properties, its principal constituent is eugenol, which is used in the dental industry to numb the gums. Clove is the highest-scoring single ingredient ever tested for its antioxidant capacity on the ORAC scale.

I want to get some cinnamon bark essential oil! I love the smell of cinnamon. Thanks for sharing these! I've been wanting to use essential oils more, so I'm always curious to learn more.

Sometimes the simplest things are the best. EOs are such a simple way to make your own scent for the house but I never would have thought of it.

Thanks for the inspiration!

I have no experience with essential oils at all but that combination seems like it would be perfect to welcome fall!

Oh I love lemon, too. Smells so fresh and clean. I hate regular cleaning products, ugh...give me a headache! So I haven't completely welcomed fall yet...doesn't help that it's still in the 90's here! Hopefully by the time Judy comes it will cool off!!

Oh yes...get a diffuser! They have some really good ones that are cheaper than the Young Living ones I bought on Amazon. I'm saving to buy one for my classroom. :)
