grateful heart

Right now I'm thankful for Saturday.  It was near perfection.  I was able to sleep in (what?!?...it's been months!), and had a burst of energy to be able to get a bunch of things done.  I know that doesn't sound exciting, but we're in countdown mode for Judy making her arrival, and so I've got to get things off my list!  And Saturday got me off to a great start.

But enough of that....Saturday night, I had several girlfriends over for a Wine Club Party.  I got the idea here, and we had the best time!  I was a little nervous because I don't have a "group" of friends, I just have a bunch of friends who've gotten to know each other over the years at birthday parties, holiday parties, get togethers, etc.  But it was so fun to bring all the ladies together...NO KIDS!!....and just be together!

Our first night we all brought a bottle of Chardonnay, wrapped it in a numbered brown paper bag, and then had to try all the different wines that were brought.  We took notes and voted on the wine we liked most and the one we liked least.  The winner, Gail, won a prize and chose Reisling for our next party.  The loser, Cyrena, has to bring the prize for the winner at the next party.

Of course I only took one picture.

Hanging out with these ladies was just what my heart needed.  Good, quality, girl time, to just be together, laugh,  get to know each other better, and eat.  I'm so grateful for the ladies in my life.  We're all at different stages, going through different things, walking different journeys, but our hearts connect in ways we cannot describe.  And for that I'm so grateful.

I'm also grateful for the opportunity to be apart of this fun, fall giveaway!  I'm teaming up with these lovely ladies....

and we're giving someone the chance to win this fun, fall prize....

I love that quote! :) Your Saturday sounds like it was wonderful - sleeping in??? Jealous much. ;) And oh what I wouldn't give for a burst of energy to get things knocked off the baby #2 list...but I'm telling myself my body is holding it all in until we actually have somewhere to unpack and start setting up house. :) Girls' nights are such a lift to the spirit, I'm so happy you had a great time!

It really was...just what I needed! The best part was the Claire woke up earlier than me, but she played in her room for awhile before she came in and woke me up...an unexpected treat! :)

I KNOW! I haven't slept in...in I have I have no idea how long! Claire was sweet enough to let me stay sleeping instead of waking me up at the crack of dawn! And the energy is seriously lacking these days, somehow I just felt super motivated, had clear thinking, and a little burst of energy...it was gone by Sunday morning! :) And yes, you need to just save up your energy for when you'll be needing it to move AGAIN! Hoping you can find your niche of girlfriends soon and start having your own girl's nights!! :)

Good Saturdays are fuel for the next week! Plus, I hot 28 weeks today...hello 3rd trimester! Ready to start feeling overly tired, so I needed to take advantage as much as possible!

That's an awesome idea for a get together, I'm going to have to try it!

Sleep and girl time?! Your entire Saturday sounds PERFECT!!! And I think this is awesome that you continued to host this party even though Judy won't let you drink. I'm jotting this idea down for my next girl night!

I'm at the point where I feel like I've been pregnant forever and there is NO end in sight! Lord, help me!

Do it! I actually got the idea from someone else's blog and we changed the rules a bit, but it was SO FUN!! Like, the perfect girl's night.

Ummm...who said anything about Judy not letting me drink? And if it was me...apparently she's over that now! Or at least I am. Does that make me a bad mom? The doc said it was ok to have a bit here and there as long as I don't go crazy...and honestly, it was hilarious to watch the other girls go crazy! Made for a very fun night....every girl must do a wine club party at some point, it was seriously the best time.

So fun...you'll have to do it with your new friends in Nashville!! :)

Thank you!! I did! :)

I just laughed out loud and Christian goes, "What are you laughing at"... I just told him- long story, you wouldn't understand, haha. Uh no, you're not a bad mom in the slightest. My bf Ashley always reminds me that one drink is okay here and there (you know, because she knows me so well and probably assumes I'll go through withdrawal or something) (bless her heart)

Hahaha...seriously, if we lived in Europe, we wouldn't be thinking a thing of it, and we'd be smoking like chimneys. Cheers to Europeans! ;)
