everyday essentials || frankincense

Well if it was good enough for the baby Jesus, it's good enough for me!  I use frank with my skin care, sometimes I add a drop to my cleanser or put a drop in my moisturizer, as it may help to reduce the appearance of aging.  Frank may also help to alleviate occasional nervous ability and support the immune system.  Sometimes I'll put frank in my diffuser with 1-2 other oils.  I have to be honest, I didn't like the smell at first, but now I find it soothing.

Frankincense (Boswellia carteri) has a sweet, warm, balsamic aroma that is stimulating and elevating to the mind. Useful for visualizing, improving one's spiritual connection, and centering, it has comforting properties that help focus the mind and overcome stress and despair. Frankincense is considered the holy anointing oil in the Middle East, where it has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. More recently, it has been used in European and American hospitals and is the subject of substantial research. Frankincense is also a valuable ingredient in skin care products for aging and dry skin. The ancient Egyptians used it in rejuvenation face masks.

Product Tips

  • Inhale frankincense essential oil after lunch to spiritually refocus.
  • Rub frankincense essential oil on the bottom of your feet to help alleviate nervous energy.

You know those incense things where you put the wax stuff over a candle and it makes the room smell awesome? I guess kind of like a diffuser, but low-tech? I use one of those with incense that smells like "frank" (love that abbreviation btw!) so yeah, I LOVE the smell! :) I never knew it had so many other good uses.

I've been so interested in all of these. Kelli at A Deeper Joy has been so helpful in picking some out for me because of my RA. I definitely want to try some soon, maybe a christmas gift to myself. I have to say my eye went right to the Christmas Spirit oil..I mean who wouldn't love that?! Also the Idaho Balsam Fir..I just love all smells of Winter!

Yes, frank is a good one! It's definitely one of my faves. Took me awhile to get used to the smell, but now I LOVE it! That would be a good one to put in the giveaway!!

I pinned a night cream recipe with frank, can't wait to make it. I don't really like the smell either but maybe someday I'll find it relaxing! :)

I'm hoping to make some stuff like that for Christmas gifts. Let me know how it turns out! I'm actually out of frank right now, and I need him back in my life. :)
