#ORYS

Operation Read Your Shelves....the goal: to actually read the books that sit on my bookshelf.  I love to buy books, and sometimes I buy so many I forget to read the ones I already have.  This link-up helps with just that...reading the ones I've bought and forgotten about.

So in October I read Let's All be Brave, by Annie Downs.  I was immediately drawn to the title of this book...it seems like being brave is something on a lot of our minds and hearts these days as women.  I realize being brave is something I need to work on in my life, as I pursue new hobbies, blog, work on ways to be a better wife and mom, pursue ministry.  I also want to set an example for my kids of what it means to be brave for Jesus.

So I was intrigued.  But excited to read.  It took me awhile to get into the book, but once I did, I read it quickly.  Annie filled the book with personal stories of showing bravery, mostly when it's hardest. This book was a challenge to me to live out the bravery that God put deep inside me (in my "knower").  If I don't, I might miss out on a blessing or calling for my life.  There are so many things in life that are scary, but being brave is what will set us free, to live life to the fullest, and give us another opportunity to give God the glory for the things He's done and doing in our lives.

I would recommend this book...not necessarily highly recommend, but if being brave is your heart's desire, your struggle, or your greatest accomplishment, I would recommend it to you.  I'm definitely glad I read it.

Amy, I'm so glad you linked up AND that you read this book! I felt the same way - it took me a while to get into it, but once I did, I really enjoyed it and finished it quickly. It was such a nice, inspiring read!

I should probably do this. My husband and I both collect books, so when we got married he added about a hundred books to my shelf that I've never read before. The problem is he only reads non-fiction and I only read fiction. haha.

Yes, totally inspiring! Made me realize I need to be more in tune to what the Lord is calling me to do each day...and then be brave about it! I also realized the "brave" has been a theme going on all around me, so I'm trying to figure out what the Lord is telling me! :)

Well that could be a problem! :) But yes, it's great link up. Hoping now that I'm on bed rest, I can read more than 1 book this month!
