Birthday

Valentine's Day was the first birthday of Set Free.  And it's been a lovely year.  I've made so many friends through this little space, but mostly, I've been able to go back and read how much I've grown, remember what God has done, and kept many special family memories in this space.

Before Set Free, I had a different blog.  It was a space where I learned to be open and honest about life, trials, and joys.  It was a space where I was able to write exactly how I was feeling...especially during our Baby Journey...but it became about so much more than just me.  People were reading, people were sharing it with their friends and family.  It became my purpose, my ministry, to take my struggles and joys and share them.  Not just for me, but for those who were also hurting and struggling, to find their voice during their own hard times.

I have absolutely loved all that has come with blogging.  I've struggled with how far I want to take my blog, and it always comes back to it being a space to keep a family journal, share my heart, cultivate friendships, and write about the important things in my life.  My heart through it all has been to write how I've truly been set free, and how that looks for my life in that moment (you can read about why I chose the name Set Free herehere and here).

So what's a celebration without a gift?!?  Many of you know about my love for all things essential oils...they really have been a game-changer for my family (immediate as well as extended) this year...and I'd love to share my oily love with one fabulous reader.  All you need to do to enter is leave a comment below, and I'll choose a winner on Friday.

The three oils included are:

Thieves (which is my all time fave!): This oil was created based on research about four thieves in France who covered themselves with cloves, rosemary, and other aromatics while robbing plague victims.  This proprietary essential oil blend was university tested for its cleansing abilities.  It is highly effective in supporting the immune system and good health.  We put Thieves on our feet almost daily as a preventative for sickness.  I also use it to make cleaning products that are safe and completely natural.

Ravintsara: has a spicy, camphorous, warm scent, similar to eucalyptus but softer.  I love the smell of this oil.  We put a drop on our chests or our spines when we have cold or flu symptoms.  It also smells delicious when it's diffused.

Citrus Fresh: a relaxing, calming blend.  It's rich in the powerful antioxidant d-limonene, it supports the immune system and overall health while bringing about a sense of well-being, creativity, and feelings of joy.  It also works as an air purifier.  Citrus Fresh is a blend of orange, tangerine, mandarin, grapefruit, lemon, and spearmint.  I love to add a drop or two to my water, diffuse it, or just simply inhale it straight from the bottle (I'm hardcore like that).  Definitely another one of my all time favorites.

Thanks for following along on my journey.  I have so enjoyed getting to know so many of you and enjoy doing" life" together in this crazy blog-land that I've grown to love!

Happy Birthday! It's been a good year - and I personally love that we can share our excitement of oils together. I would give Thieves to my mom - she volunteers in the hospital and I worry about her catching something!
