12 months of bliss :: happiness stamped

I read a post last month challenging me to take on 12 Months of Bliss project, and June's challenge was to write and send five handwritten notes through the snail mails. No texts, fb messages, or emails. Handwritten. The only rule.

I don't know about you, but I love getting a note in my mailbox. It definitely brightens my day. And right away I easily made a list of 5 people to send notes to. When I stepped back and looked at my list, I realized that all these people had something in common.... they were each going through some sort of painful life change. Losing a job. Miscarriage. Sickness. Having to go back to work after being a stay-at-home mom.  And I honestly didn't know what to say to each person. Except. I'm praying for you. I'm here if you need anything. Please reach out if you need anything

I also decided to write 5 cards just because. I love getting notes like that. "Hey! I'm not writing for any particular reason other than to tell you I think you're amazing."

This month was the perfect challenge for me. Encouraging others is definitely something I need to work on.  And I think it just means so much in this day in age to sit and take the time to write a note.  It's so easy for me to text or send messages through facebook. BUT getting a handwritten note feels so special.  Makes a person feel important, cared for, loved.

I love so much that you joined this month, Amy!! I have loved reading everyone's recaps. Funny enough, that project was NOT based on the Happiness project! :) I hadn't even heard of it until after I started 12 Months of Bliss. I still haven't read that book but definitely want to one of these days!

I had the exact same "problem"... I know who I wanted to write to and how I felt about them, but I had no idea what to say except, "Hello, I miss you, I'm thinking about you." It was a really great challenge!

But I think that's all people need to hear sometimes, ya know? I think as long as people know they're being thought of, that's enough.

Such a fun link-up, right?!? And yes, receiving is so fun, but I think I like the giving even more.

Haha...so I totally edited my post! Sorry about that! I should have gone back and re-read your first post! It's on my list of books to read this summer,...I've heard so many good things.

HA! No worries at all! Yes, I have wanted to read it for such a long time. I may wait until after the 12 months and read it as kind of like a Part 2.. to keep me going ;)
