36

celebrating 35 with my besties
Tomorrow is my 36th birthday.  36 years of life.  And officially closer to 40 than 30.  Weird.  But what an incredible year 35 was.  Of course the highlight was the birth of my baby boy.  The long awaited miracle baby who's filled our lives with so much joy.  Overall 35 was a fantastic year that I'm so grateful for.

It was the year I learned all about the importance of giving.  I learned to be more selfless.  I learned to have more patience.  I practiced keeping my mouth shut.  I started to take my health and that of my family beyond just healthy meals.  I started a small business.  I worked full time as a teacher.  I went out of my comfort zone to reach out to people I normally wouldn't.  I tried to be less judgmental.  I said YES more.  I intentionally prayed for others more.  I became more independent.  But I also learned a lot about trust.

I'm hoping 36 is even better than 35.  I know there are going to be a lot of changes for me this year. Things I can share about at a later time. Praying I can handle those changes with grace.  With a lot of love.  And not in my own strength.  I want to look back at the end of 36 and know that I gave it my best. That I learned and grew the most.  And that I kicked 36's booty.

Ah, I had a baby at 36 so I count it as one of my favorite ages! Celebrate with joy!

Nope! We were engaged 13 months and I would have been happily engaged longer :)

I love it! You're the opposite of all the girls I've ever met! :) We only had a 4 month engagement so I don't remember enjoying it because we were planning the entire time, plus I was student teaching and Steve started a business. Crazy people.

We were kind like that too, I moved back from Scotland, graduated, got baptized, then we got engaged and moved half way across the country two months later so I could start my PhD program. We planned our wedding during the first year of my program- insanity. I really enjoyed being engaged and we worked as event planners/coordinators for a few years so we had a good time planning our wedding!
