everyday essentials || melaleuca {tea tree}

Oh Melaleuca! How I've grown to love it!  I've recently started using melaleuca daily in my skin care regimen...morning and night. I add one drop to my toner and put it all over my face and neck. I've noticed a big difference in my skin since adding it to my products.  My husband uses melaleuca mixed with fractionated coconut oil on his face and neck after shaving and is now requesting his own bottle!   This oil has so many primary uses, but is great for your skin. Sometimes I'll even put a little dab in my nostrils to help me with my seasonal discomforts. It can be used as a natural deodorant, and can even be used on your pets.

Tea Tree oil, also known as Melaleuca alternifolia, can be found in a wide spectrum of skin care and spa products that can comfort and beautify the appearance of skin.

This post is in a series of posts I've written about my journey with essential oils.  If you'd like to read about other oils, you can go here.

I have been using it on my skin as well, but I haven't been very consistent with it unfortunately! I'm also really bad at noticing before and after so maybe I need to snap a photo. I have noticed it actually helps with my congestion sometimes!

Steve started using it in a roller with lavender and frankincense (and coconut oil) and he hasn't been getting any more ingrowns after shaving! And he hasn't had to use aftershave. I wish I had been using this oil more consistently for a longer time. I recently read that it's good for coughs, so that's why you've noticed it help congestion! :)
