Grateful Heart || all the things

[dusts off cobwebs]

Well hello!  It's so nice to be back in this space.  I sure have missed it!  The break was sort of unintentional, I had a bunch of posts mostly complete, but nothing to officially publish.  BUT...school starts for Claire on Monday (for me it's starts today! More on that later...) and I'm hoping to get into a good routine of all things blogging.

For now, here is my list of things I'm SUPER grateful for today (welp, not just today, just sharing them today!):

+ Family Vacation.  Every year my family goes camping in Yosemite National Park...and by camping, that's what I mean.  Like we sleep in tents (we kinda make fun of people who consider an RV camping!).  This year, it was ridiculously difficult to connect to wifi and get any cell service, so I just went with it, using my phone mostly as a camera and I checked my emails twice in 8 days.  Talk about refreshing!  The whole week was fantastic.  We hiked, biked, played in/at the river, read, sat around campfires every night, and just hung out.  It was a smaller group of us than it has been in years past, so of course we missed those that weren't there, but it didn't stop us from having such a fun time. We seriously weren't ready to leave and are now counting down the days til we go again next year.

+ The Move.  Yes, we've been anticipating a move for several months now, and it finally happened.  2 days after we got home from vacation, the movers showed up, ready to pack our belongings into the truck and deliver them safely to our new home.  Seriously grateful for movers!  And for our Moms who've gone above and beyond watching our kids!...not that it was hard to convince them! ;)  After almost 4 years of living with Steve's parents, it's weird to not have them around all the time.  We sure miss them and our daily interactions, but we're loving having our own space at the same time...now to just get it settled.

+ New Home.  It's adorable.  A darling 1950's home with original hardwood floors, a stove top from the same era, and the tiniest of bedrooms.  But we totally love it.  Since it's so old, it definitely has it's quirks, and I wish the kitchen had a few more cabinets, but we're quickly falling for our little charmer. The best part is, it's only 5 minutes from our school!  No more 35 minute commute each way!!

Feeling very blessed and my heart is full.  God is so good, all the time.  Glad to be back in this space and looking forward to connecting with you soon!

Sometimes I actually love it when I rock up somewhere only to discover I have no phone reception- then it truly is a holiday!

Your new home sounds charming. Vacations with no social media is the way vacation is suppose to be. Living in the moment with no distractions. Sounds like you had a great time with your family. Truly a grateful heart for such a time as that. From Ember Grey

It's so true! My hubs had a harder time with it because there were a few days he had to do a few hours of work. But I was actually so happy. It felt so freeing to not be tied down to technology. This school year I'm going to try to be really intentional about not using my phone for anything but a phone and camera on the weekends!

Thank you! It is a charmer...I'll post pics when we're done settling! And yes, it was one of our better vacations because of it...we enjoyed just living in the moment! Thanks for stopping by!

Hahaha...yep, it's me...hopefully I'm back! I've said that a few times now, but I'm hoping life is a bit more settled now and I can get back to being more intentional with this space! And yes...if it has wheels, flushes, and keeps bugs out, it's definitely glamping...so not hard core! :)

I'm hoping to do a little house tour once we're settled. Although I could do a "real life" tour right now with all the boxes and stuff to be hing on the walls. Haha...no one wants to see that! :)

Yes! We found out who her teacher will be...Mrs. Todd We love her! She was Claire's kinder teacher and also my partner teacher in 3rd grade for 3 years several years back. :) So great to know she's going to have an amazing teacher this year.

You know what I consider camping? Like, MY kind of camping? A hotel that is kind of surrounded by trees. ;) (I hope we can still be friends.)

YOUR HOME sounds wonderful!!

Haha...welp, most of the inlaws in our family would 100% agree with you! But we drag them along with us. And trust me...I love a nice hotel room, it's just, you know, traditions.
