O N E

My sweet Jude William.  Tomorrow you will be one.  ONE.  How it's come so quickly, I don't know. But the fastness of time passing is making me hold on fiercely to each day.  To each new thing learned. To each moment, snuggle, and night-night kiss.  I'm learning all to well how quickly these years will pass and soon you will be leaving my house as a man.

The fact that I get to be your mom is still so incredible to me.  I never thought YOU would be part of our family.  But God is so incredibly good.  His gifts are perfect, and I'm grateful that I get to be part of your journey.  It's truly humbling, exhausting, and hilarious.

I pray for you everyday.  That you would seek after God's heart the same way you seek that dog food...like it's the only thing that matters.  I pray that you would love Jesus with so much passion that you can't help but tell others about him.  I pray that you would be kind because kindness is how we love like Jesus.  Kindness looks for the lost and hurting.  Kindness doesn't leave anyone out. Kindness is all inclusive.  Always remember to be kind.

Before your first birthday, you had 4 teeth.  You crawled at 7 months.  You said "mama," "dada," "Claire," "Coco," and "doggie."  You walked all over the house holding on to walls, furniture, and human legs.  You've taken a handful of steps on your own when we bribed you, but you weren't in any hurry to walk.  Which I'm fine with.  You wave bye bye, clap your sweet little hands, and yell.  A lot. When you baby talk/yell to me, you always have a hand up in the air.  It makes me think of an evangelist or politician and I love it.

Jude, you have the best personality.  Your smile lights up the room and makes everyone, especially strangers, feel like a million bucks.  You are so easy going.  The only time you get upset is when you need something.  And when your sister is bugging you.  And when you're teething.  Oh the teething...you only want momma to hold you when you're teething.  And although it makes the days long and hard, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I love you so much Boo Bear, Monkey, Baby Brother, Judo.  You've filled up the parts of my heart I never knew needed filling.  Happy 1 year of life.  You're rocking it so far.  And I can't wait to see where this amazing journey takes you.

Love,
Momma
